Carlos Ferreiro has a degree in Chemistry and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, specializing in the development of analytical platforms in metabolomics, from the University of Córdoba. Additionally, he expanded his studies to obtain improve his skills in industrial quality, pharmaceutical processes, environment, safety and laboratory management.

He has participated in research projects both at the University of Córdoba and at the Maimonides Institute of Biomedicine of Córdoba (IMIBIC), in which they have addressed the creation of new analytical platforms in metabolomics, use of auxiliary energies in the preparation of samples, the exploitation and use of residues from the agri-food industry, the search for new nutraceuticals and products with high added value and the isolation, purification and characterization of the biological activity of active principles of medicinal plants. As a result of his scientific career, he has published more than twenty papers, all of them in the scientific journals with the highest impact index in his area of ​​knowledge, as well as with active participation in numerous national and international conferences.

Since 2012, he has been the head of the analytics department at Phytoplant, in which analysis methods are designed and applied to carry out the correct quality control of all raw materials, intermediate and final products that are obtained during the entire industrial process of Cannabis according to to current regulations.

Simultaneously, since 2018 he has been in charge of coordinating the company's research projects, as well as managing activities related to environmental management systems and R & D & I implemented in the company.
